Description
A happy T-shirt for all those happy cranes out there that weathered Fiona.
As Haligonians will recall, 2019’s Dorian Hurricane brought heavy winds, pummeling rains, and widespread power outages to our region. Mid way through our stern thrashing by nature, a crane toppled in Halifax’s South End. Landing on a building under construction, there were no casualties. However, the local area was paralyzed while the painstaking investigation and removal of the poor crane took place. Many asked themselves, “for whom the crane falls?”.
Fast forward to 2022, and as we understand it, Nova Scotia’s finest have formed elite squads to inspect and protect our mighty construction cranes, prior to major weather events. Well, their work has clearly paid off. While Fiona delivered a historic pounding to Nova Scotia, no cranes toppled. No cranes were lost.
And so, with this shirt, we commemorate the loss of our beloved crane in 2019, and celebrate the resiliency of every crane that stood and withstood through Fiona.
We salute you.
